Bride of RomenRSSko
 /

If you’ve been following my efforts to scrape together an RSS feed for the Romenesko sidebar, you might have thought I’d have either given up, learned regular expressions, or convinced Robin it was every bit as cool as Charlie Rose. Since the Wotzwot RSS tool I’d been using to make the feed introduced a couple ridiculous measures to prevent folks from ever using it, I’ve been without my Romenesko link-loggy goodness.

But now I’ve found another, much better tool for scraping together feeds. The new Romenesko sidebar feed is not only much more functional, but it also has a URL that makes sense.

Thanks for this, Matt. I really needed more journalism news to read every day.

P.S. Honestly, it’s great; truth is, I often miss items in the sidebar, and this will help.

Sweet, I had also lost a number of feeds when Wotzwot went antisocial on us. I noticed the community at Ning has also used that service to put together some feeds, e.g. for deviant art. But that’s a lot more technical.

The left rail feed isn’t working this morning. (Unless it transfers items HOURS after Romenesko posts them.)

The NewStandard is what you won’t find in Romenesko’s anything, though I’ve been e-mailing about it every time a related topic came up… “is journalism dying? Someone needs to do good newspaper-work on-line” me: “look here look here” … so I’m posting the link here as sort of a way of getting near the sidebar 🙂
