The photographs are fantastic.
If you’re unfamiliar with the work of Gregory Crewdson I recommend checking out his stuff as well.
Though technically very different, to me he also captures something of the hyper/sur/real that these miniature photographs possess.
I agree — those images are phenomenal. They are somehow simultaneously sad and, for lack of a better word, twee.
Actually, come to think of it, the opening sequence to Mr. Rogers (with the tiny fake town) conjures up the same pleasantly melancholy feeling for me.
