Hypothesis (probably completely uncontroversial): In the age of link-driven discovery and Google, URLs no longer matter.
So the rad URLs of the not-so-distant future will be super-long and ridiculous like Jennifer Daniel's... or even better, they'll just be strings of random alphanumeric characters!
