ChloƩ Mortaud, Miss France 2009
I love France, I love beauty pageants, and I love interracial families, and so it follows quite naturally that I love ChloĆ© Mortaud, the new multinational, multiracial nineteen-year-old Miss France. Hassan Marsh at The Root has a great write-up here, and chloemortaud.com has plenty of good stuff too (the link goes directly to a video featuring her family and hometown, a small village near the Pyrenees). Also, slick design on that webpage — very much that of a 21st-century beauty queen.

Wait... you love beauty pageants?
Of course! In fact, I was Mr Teen Michigan in 1996. My talent was declaiming Pindar's Olympic Odes in heavily accented Greek.
