This Is Not CGI
Found this via Ezra Klein, whose admonishment to watch all the way to the end for the Pixar-worthy octopus feat is worth heeding:

You. have got. to be kidding. me.
That is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen on my computer screen.
I can't believe it's real!
!!!
timely! there was an awesome NOVA about cuttlefish last night. (http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/camo/)
Wow. Just wow.
sigh. This was the kind of thing More Fantasticness was pretty much organized around. We had quite a collection of these building up, but a lot of my archives have been lost. I love that video. I'm rather fond of the octopus as bouncing coconut too.
Seconding the recommendation of NOVA's Cuttlefish: Kings of Camouflage. It's on Netflix.
Always liked these little guys. Not quite so sophisticated daytime camouflage, although their nighttime counter-illumination is pretty awesome.
