Note the common stamp in the Cornell and the Bantock. Not accidental that the age of collage is also the age of the penny post! (Also the age of wallpaper, the carte de visite, cheap chemical paper, usw...)
Also, un petit leçon de langue: coller, in French, means to glue, paste, or stick. It's often used interchangably with monter -- the root of the French/English word montage.
