Re: the X-Men movies, Clive Thompson nails it:

And sure enough, it looks like a mutantastic film; in a violation of all known laws of sequel physics, the second X-Men movie actually demonstrated less creative entropy than the first, so I have high hopes for the third.

Agreed, it looks good.

All I can say is this: the behovely Olivia Williams as Dr. Moira McTaggart. Yum.

Lovely indeed, and the more Siryn, the better. Hopefully, though, the fair Dr. McTaggart will whine less onscreen than she did on the page. "Oh, I went to far in altering Magneto's genes. Banshee, we can never be together! Damn this Irish Catholic guilt!"

Just thinking about it is almost enough to send me to the bottle.

Oh that is EXCELLENT! I hadn't even noticed. Yeah, is she the ultimate hotness or what? She's like the thinking man's Rachel Weisz. Who is already the thinking man's Catherine Zeta-Jones, so Olivia Williams is totally post-grad.

P.S. "Behovely"?

"Behovely" is a (mostly) obsolete word that means right, appropriate, fit, lovely, "meet" (in the old sense), felicitous, profitable, worthy of admiration. "Behooves," etc.
