To my admittedly theory-addled mind, the best part of the article was when one of the scientists argued that the whole idea of sexual orientation needs to be reconsidered in order to make any kind of headway on empirical research. With so many shades of queer, it seems unlikely that any one formula of genetic or hormonal or otherwise biological (or even cultural) influence is likely to have explanatory power for the whole gang. Maybe these researchers should bone up on some Savage Love. Then again, it seems strange that scientists might one day map the gene that makes otherwise straight men go crazy for she-males.
