New (Hampshire) Liberal Arts

I was just on New Hampshire Public Radio, live, talking about New Liberal Arts. Sure to be the buzz of Manchester this morning!

That's all well and good, but how bout the real news ... The YoYo is back!

I heard you this morning, very interesting. Liberal Arts 2.0, the new subjects and topics for a modern liberal arts education. But do Liberal Arts majors even understand the 1.0, 1.1, etc nomenclature? Maybe you could call it Liberal Arts Part2 or 2nd generation. Oh, and Zach, the YoYo never left.

"do Liberal Arts majors even understand the 1.0, 1.1, etc nomenclature?"

Yes, they do. Even my fine arts students do, and they use it, spontaneously. That wasn't necessarily true ten years ago, but it's true now.

Ms. Prescott conveniently forgot to mention how many copies constituted the first printing ;-)

I definitely like Tim's idea of the NLA as courses for the internet-as-college. I think that makes more sense as context than NLA's actual intro.

I'm sure they do Tim, sorry it was a weak attempt at humor. I guess my point was that there seems to be a lack of high tech content in the basic LA education.
