Ghosts

This io9 essay on Dollhouse reminded me of something I bet a lot of slightly-less-hardcore Joss Whedon fans didn’t know: Years ago, Whedon wrote a couple of action movie screenplays that got reviewed at Screenwriter’s Utopia. The review includes a summary of one of the movies (called “Afterlife”) that clearly prefigured the ideas Whedon’s exploring in Dollhouse. The premise changed a lot in the intervening years, but it’s somewhat fascinating to look at the progression.

Funny -- Dollhouse has actually been my first real foray into the Whedon-verse. I watched the whole first season!

I linked to the io9 essay a month ago, under the title "The Ideas! The Ideas! Part Whatever." :-) Glad to see you guys caught it!

Dollhouse is also my favorite of Whedon's TV movies.

Wow! This might actually be the first time all Snarkmasters are aligned in TV viewership. I tend to miss so much of the good stuff -- The Wire, 30 Rock, etc.

We should remember this when the show starts back up again and, I don't know. Do some. Uh. Dollhouse blogging.
