		<description>I think I try to strike up conversation, or at least ask, &quot;how are you?&quot; but I don&#039;t use the name without asking, even it&#039;s written. But on the phone it&#039;s entirely different; I feel it&#039;s necessary.

Sometimes I feel bad on the few occasions when I&#039;m shopping for clothes, b/c I guess you&#039;re supposed to notice and then credit that person at the cashier when they ask who helped you.

I&#039;ve never worked in customer service, but I always thought it was good to establish rapport with an agent, by looking at the tag, and if it said, &quot;Sally,&quot; to say, &quot;How&#039;s your day going, Sally?&quot; If I&#039;ve got my earbuds in while standing in line, I take one out, because I feel it&#039;s rude to just swipe my card, grab my groceries, and go.</description>
