Uh, wow, I totally missed that rant and my Clay Shirky stock just went down. I didn’t know he was a professor and I didn’t know generic ranting was his approach to mentoring half his students.
That comic is simply great–have you read the biography, “Rosalind Franklin &DNA”? I had to look up the page number, but I can still see page 196 in my minds eye and the awful image superimposed upon it; gives me shivers every time. that man has a daughter, for all I know an intelligent and gifted one, and I do not really like to contemplate her future.. That’s what it’s really about.
