Ah, Movable Type

Ha ha, it’s official: Single-threaded comments don’t scale. We’ll definitely install Intense Debate or something similar on the new WordPress-ized Snarkmarket — which is coming soon!

But, there’s a lot of good stuff in the new liberal arts comment thread — so give it a look if you haven’t yet, and consider pitching in an idea of your own.

More book details coming later this week.

WordPress 2.7 actually has comment threading (and pagination) baked right in. You can still use Intense Debate or Disqus, but the fact that it’s there obviates one of most common reasons for using them.

I shouldn’t hate on MT; I know version 4 is actually really slick. And it’s no one’s fault but our own that we’re still running on software we installed in, like, 2003.

But we’re still switching to WordPress. 🙂
