Amazing! I’d love to see them in person. Maybe the exhibition can detour to Minneapolis.
I’ve been to the place you like in photo 11! The Aran Islands are so stark and beautiful, perhaps my favorite place in Ireland. Those stone fences that separate the island into so many small plots are, in many places, the tallest objects to be found. Even in the villages on each island, none of the buildings are very tall, and there are no trees to speak of.
What you don’t quite get to see from that photo is how close that fort is to the shore. Just beyond the lower right corner are steep cliffs that plunge into the Atlantic. Makes me want to go back.
