Hipster Norah Jones

You are very late to the party, Matt — in Canada, Let It Die was actually released in 2004 — although I have to qualify with the following:

1) The rest of the album doesn’t quite ascend to the giddy, pitch-perfect heights of “Mushaboom.” This is no particular shame, as “Mushaboom” may be the best alternative-adult-contemporary song released this year.

2) As the last monstrous adjective indicates, Feist’s wave of popularity is being driven less by the hipsters and more by the NPR set, the same people who made Sufjan Stevens and (coincidence) Norah Jones very popular.

3) For a more hipster-y take, you should also check out the new Broken Social Scene album, on which Ms. Feist is featured prominently. “Shoreline (7/4)” is a particularly good one.

I’m with Matt in being late to the Feist-fest, but in defense of alternative-adult-contemporary NPRsters everywhere, I think All Songs Considered is the greatest thing ever devised. Even greater than Transformers costumes.

I just went there and listened to “Mushaboom” in its entirety.

So, Matt, if you haven’t already, might I suggest you … Check it oooout…

Ok, so this is the story. I thought it was funny. My friend and I are always after new discoveries in music. I should say we are even competing for one another’s musical pleasure, who would discover something amazing. And then we share…

So, yesterday, i was googling for some “garden state” movie images and i found this interesting picture. I click on it, and your blog opens up. I read couple first lines, click on “This album” and find Feist!!!! I download couple songs, to check it out, and what a discovery!!!!! I shared them with my friend and she absolutelly loved it!!! She asked me to find you again and thank you for your recomendation!!!

What an elegent and womenly album!

Thanks again!
